Channing Milfeld
Channing is from Dallas and an ESD alum. She holds a Masters in Education and B.A. in English from SMU and has been teaching for over 10 years. Channing's experience includes creating and aligning curriculum and teaching high school English. She currently teaches freshman English at John Paul II High School in Plano. Her specialties include World and American literature, grammar (6th-12th), resumés and college applications (essays included), teaching the writing process (expository, narrative, rhetorical analysis, short answer), reading comprehension, and vocabulary.
Channing understands that each child has their own way of learning and knows how to differentiate and individualize approaches. She believes that all students should have an active voice in their learning journey, which will always be used to help propel their success. A self-described laughter enthusiast and coordinator of chaos, Channing spends most of her downtime with her family. She and her husband, Chris, have a daughter, Finley, a son, Gaines, and a very rambunctious Golden Retriever, Crockett. In her rare free time, Channing loves reading, needlepointing, watching and solving crime shows, shopping, and cooking.
